13 Birdville ISD Elementary and Middle Schools Recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Schools Rankings

Birdville ISD is proud to announce that 11 elementary schools and two middle schools have been recognized in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings. This follows the announcement earlier this fall that the three BISD comprehensive high schools – Birdville, Haltom and Richland – earned placement in the 2025-2026 rankings of Best High Schools.

With the October 28 announcement of Best Elementary and Middle School rankings, Birdville ISD congratulates Foster Village, Green Valley, Hardeman, North Ridge, Porter, Smith, Smithfield, Snow Heights, Spicer, Academy at C.F. Thomas and Walker Creek elementary schools, along with North Ridge and Smithfield middle schools, for achieving this remarkable distinction. These schools have demonstrated exceptional educational quality, earning their place among the best U.S. elementary and middle schools at both the state and national levels.

“This recognition is really about the people – our students, staff and families – who are at the heart of everything that we do in Birdville ISD,” said Dr. Gayle Stinson, Superintendent. “Their hard work, commitment and dedication to preparing the next generation of leaders shines through in everything that they do, and we couldn’t be prouder of what this recognition says about our community.”

U.S. News thoroughly evaluated public schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the 2025-2026 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings, an exhaustive process encompassing more than 81,000 schools. The rankings are determined based on each school’s standardized test scores using key indicators such as math and reading proficiency and performance on each subject on state exams. The rankings also consider student backgrounds and learning in core subjects.

Congratulations to each of these award-winning schools for the excellence they display every day through incredible service and integrity to our community!
